Yea...that's a lot of copies of movies....my best buy and circuit city only put out like 10, if even, for the hi def format new releases.

Target seems to jump the gun quite often on new releases. I've gotten quite a few CD's and DVD's there over a week before street date. Not that I mind. I was actually at my local Target yesterday seeing if they had put out Shooter yet.

It's a matter of employee training. The retailer can get fined or distribution can be cut off if the studios find out a movie is sold before release date. I was in my local target this morning and didn't see 300.

Yep, wish Hot Fuzz was on BD. That's why I'm getting the UK 2-disc DVD.

In fact, if Hot Fuzz was on BD I'll be getting the UK version because it'll have more special features. HF is not a mainstream enough movie to warrant lots of extras for the US market.

Whoever set those out at your Target is a moron. The planograms for those do not even get set until Monday morning/evening. I work for Target overseeing that and other depts, so I know how it all works. not calling you a liar, but someone had to make spots for those, or the logistics idiots tore open the boxes that blatently had street date labels on them and just put them out. That would NEVER happen at my store. We have a ton of SD copies, and about 3 HD DVD and 10 BD copies in the backroom since Friday. Makes me wanna ring myself one up as 'not on file'

If that store really did set all those out early like that, the distributers are gonna NAIL that store and not send them stuff on time.

BTW Target is gonna sell them for $24.99 BR and $29.99 HD.. take that BB and CC!
