Default Why some movies take too long to load?

I posted this at PC sub-forum but didn't get any response. Perhaps I would get a better luck in this sub-forum.
I start to get very frustrated with some of BD movies that just take too long to load. Movies like Pinocchio and other movies with fancy BD-Java take too long to load. Sometimes it takes 1 minute or 2 to load these movies. Sometimes it even fails to load. I have the latest firmware for my drive. The latest patch for my software players. I even tried 3 different software players. All have the same problem. But simpler BD movies with no fancy BD-Java load very quickly. As fast as DVD or even slightly faster.

How long does it take to load Pinocchio with your stand alone player? My drive is 2x, is it too slow? How can I fix this problem?

Pinocchio wasn't that bad for me, I only put it in once though... I can't exactly remember.

Well, sorry to hear that. What type of player are you using?

Some BD Players take longer than others to load . I personally don't worry about it , & when I start mine buy the time I have shut the lights down & closed the doors the movie is ready to go !

I have a laptop with a blu-ray drive. XP SP3 and Vista SP2, Core 2 Duo 2.8GHz, 3GB RAM, Mobility Radeon HD 3470 (256MB VRAM), BC-5500a drive with the latest firmware 1.05 http://www.sony-optiarc.eu/supportse...s/bc5500a.html . I tried PowerDVD 7 Ultra, WinDVD BD for VAIO and ArcSoft Total Media Theatre.

What's funny is I have a PS3 and a BDP-S350 Blu-ray player. Sometimes a movie will take 2 minutes to load in the PS3. I put it in the stand alone player and it boots right up. Then, I'll find a movie that takes 2 minutes to load in the stand alone player and it will boot right up in the PS3. It's a shame the Blu-ray standards weren't more universal and strict. Movies should not take that long to load. Ever.

But have you ever find a movie that tries to load and then quit?

That happened to me one time with the Terminator 2 Skynet edition. I had to turn off my player and reboot it, then it loaded.

Iron Man and Hellboy 2 took forever to load the first time, i don't know if it had anything to do with BD Live or something because they have loaded faster after that.
