Default Center Speaker Placement

So I purchased a center speaker and it doesn't fit on my stand! haha

I can't hang my TV because I'm planning on moving soon.

I'm thinking about purchasing a small shelf to hang above the tv but it'll be slightly above my towers. Is this ok?

Would the speaker be considered at ear level? You want the center channel pointed directly to your ears if you can.

Slightly above should not be a problem if it is pointed at your ears. This is one of the most common positions and it works well (mine is like this).

I raised mine to get the tweeter the same height as my fronts' tweeters. Now all 3 are firing at my ear. Pic in my HT gallery.
