Default Which blu-rays for speaker audition?

Hey,

I'll be auditioning the B&W 683 theatre (683,htm61,asw610,686) tomorrow, coupled with a Yamaha RX-V765 amplifier. Do you guys know any particular movies or scenes that I can play to really hear what this system is capable of? The two more sound engaging movies that I have and can think of are "The Dark Knight" and "Iron Man". I'm counting on your help, since my current audio setup only consists of the tv's built in speakers

Thanks, Paul

There is a thread exactly like this, it's nearly at the top of the first page.

I'd also suggest you bring either an audio-only blu-ray or a music blu-ray like the one in your wishlist. That way you can see how well it will handle that type of a soundstage, rather than just the bass-loaded sequences from action films.

For auditioning HT speakers I highly recommend Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds: Live at Radio City. It is Dolby TrueHD 5.1 96kHz/24-bit at it's finest. Those B&W's are gonna be awesome with this blu.

Thanks everyone I've auditioned the B&Ws today (without a sub) and they really sounded great when I popped John Mayer's concert and The Dark Knight. Can't wait to hear 'em out with the sub
