Question Difference between Class A,B and Class D amps?

I am very close to pulling the trigger on a Rotel RMB-1575 amplifier (I missed one on audiogon the other day for $2300 )

Anyway, in all the reviews I see of class D amps (which the 1575 is) it says that they don't deliver as well on the low-end as class A/B amps

What is meant by this?

Also, what are some other notable differences between class A/B and class D amps? All I know is that class D consume less energy/are energy efficient

any insight is appreciated

thanks
