Hey folks - I have some information that I'm trying to confirm.
I had a contact of mine obtain Inglorious Basterds from Future Shop for me - no dents or dings on any of them. However, each one of them (my copy and my friends two copies) have a LOT of wiggle room on the spine area. I opened up my copy of District 9 that I got from HMV and same problem there. So to be clear - the problem I'm currently seeing is when the steelbook is closed - you can move either the front or the back up/down quite a bit....some are more obvious than others, but it feels like the spine is floating. I tried some of my other steels that I had gotten - like the disney ones - I did not see the same problem there. Has anyone else run into this problem with a purchase of a recently released steelbook? ![]() I have yet to open my copy of Public Enemies - to see if it's a problem with that too. ![]() |

i had a member here ship me basterds. it was sealed/perfect condition but when i unwrapped it, the steel strip was not taped to the spine all the way. it looks as if they ran out of tape to attach the strip to the spine. no big deal since i can just glue it on. other than that, the steelbook is perfect so this is the first time i have complained about it.

That is a good point. I do have both the Terminator salvation ironpack and Harry potter 6 ironpack and they appear to be pretty solid. The spine is all metal which i think is pretty nice and opens up pretty smooth. Only thing i don't like about the ironpack is the paint finish seems to scratch pretty easy unlike steelbooks, but these are light hair scratches. The Metal also seems thicker on the ironpack giving it some weight which makes it feel pretty solid. The plastic insides of the ironpack are very securely attached to the metal as well.

The inside edges at the center are curved which I thought was bent when I initially opened it but that's the way they're designed. No complaints here.
