public enemies didn't load

I rented the bluray for Public Enemies a few nights ago and it didn't load. I picked up a different disc of the same movie with the same result today. Has anyone else had this problem? Any solutions?

What model blu-ray player do you have? If you post this, someone may be able to direct you to the site where you can download the latest firmware for your player, and instructions on how to do it.

The great majority of the time, issues like this come up because players are running firmware that is incompatible with the new Java authoring on newer movies. Doing a firmware update will resolve this problem most of the time.

Alternatively, you may want to try to disable the BD-Live capabilities of your player, and see if the movie loads that way - this has worked for several titles in several players for several people.

I cannot help you with this particular title, though, as I've yet to watch it. It just sits pretty on my shelf.

Happened to me with my PS3 Slim.. It worked fine on my 60gb and on my oppo but for some reason the slim had problems.. I just tried the BD-live for the heck of it since nothing else worked.. I have it set to confirm Internet connection and I usually click on no. Clicking yes actually fixed it for some reason just don't understand how that made it work. For me it started loading and then the screen stayed black. Is this what's happening for you as well? What BD layer you using?
