Cineworld sucks big time at the mo!

It really annoys me at the moment that when I wanna go and see a 2 or 3 film marathan in the weekdays no films start earlier than 3pm. What ever happened to the cinema opening at 1pm?

Virtually no one goes to the 1pm show. I worked in a cinema for 6 months and we had more staff just to run the place than customers. Sucks I know but that is business.

I suppose to majority of the money will be made late at night, after dinner. I prefer going to the theater as early as possible but most people prefer at night.

Yeah I used to love going to the 1pm Mon-Fri showings, and before the unlimited card came out - I had the whole screen to myself (sometimes I used to go with my friend and I always remember she always used to say "Ahh darling you didn't have to hire the cinema just for us"! I guess sometimes I still get the good times, rarely a film will open about 2-2:30pm.

My local theater starts movies between 11 and 12 every day. I also like to go as early as possible so it works out nice.

Big chains have now switched to starting shows at 12-ish, because you can squeeze more 90-100 min. screenings into even-numbered hours than odd-numbered.
And, of course, that's in the summer, when they have more than one afternoon show at all.
