Default FragFX the answer for me in MW2?

I'm coming from the PC and keyboard+mouse. I've done well in offline MW2 and other games. But playing MW2 online people sure are able to kick my butt.

They move, turn and stab me in an instant and i'm still trying to turn to see where they went LOL. Watching the replay vids and I see people aiming their guns and taking making multi-kills. It takes me a bit just to get one person in my sights.

Is the difference the FragFX? I mean, everyone can't be using a mouse for the PS3 can they? Or are people just THAT good at the PS3 controller?

I still enjoy the game, but it would be nice to get 13 kills, 2 deaths instead of vice versa

I'm not sure what the FragFX is. I also haven't even heard of people playing games on the PS3 with a mouse. Is that really going on?

sasquatch, I think people are just that good. I can use the PS3 controller pretty well but suck at mouse and keyboard on a PC. It just comes down to what you are used to using. If you want to get better with the PS3 controller i suggest doing private matches with just a few friends. I have 3 friends i play private matches with and have a lot more fun then playing in ranked matches. Even in video games practice makes perfect.

I think Unreal III allows it, but it'd be news to me if you could use a mouse/keyboard in MW2 on PS3.

Also, like you, I have no idea what FragFX is.

I don't know... I can certainly get 13 kills/2 deaths in any given match of MW2 with the PS3 controller (although 13 kills/2 deaths probably means there's some camping involved because those numbers are low!). I don't always get those numbers, but doing well in the game is mostly about knowing maps, knowing other online players' tendencies (with respect to maps/game modes), using perks wisely and being decent at FPS games. There's no real controller-related trick to it.

Basically, if you put more than 2 days of your life into online MW2, you'll learn a thing or two! Oh, and I started off sucking at MW2 despite being quite good at MW1.

As I understand it, FragFX is some sort of mouse/controller hybrid.

I've heard mixed things about it and am not that hardcore into FPS that I'd consider getting one. I'm decent at most FPS except MW2. I suck horribly at this one and ended up just trading it in.

I know coming from a PC to controller it was a shock at first I still think I could do even better with a keyboard an mouse just because I feel the response is better. But I agree if you put the time in I just don't see how anyone could be bad, just like I'd be shocked in other games where I'd play people who were top100 in the rankings and they'd get wrecked I just don't know how you log so many hours and don't improve.

I use to play CounterStrike on PC 24/7, back in 99-05, and was beastly at it...But once I got back into console FPS it was a pretty hard transition because the game pace is different and controlling the dead zones on the controllers was something to get use to...Like what others have mentioned just practice with friends, learn the maps and find tactical advantages...I don't know about that FragFX even though I've seen it...I just don't know anyone that uses it...I know there are other devices to hook up keyboard/mouse to consoles but I have not met anyone with one...Also most of the really insane players I know have their sensitivity basically all the way up or close to it...

I've found that you can get a lot of kills by out smarting people rather than being good with a controller.

Try to anticipate where they're going or what they're thinking and out maneuver and surprise.

don't forget the melee attack is the best "weapon" in the game for close encounters, since it wins everytime. I also was really good at MW1 but started off bad at MW2 but now i've had a 32 killstreak. Make sure you use the perks wisely, because they can determine if you win or lose on a 1 V 1 situation.

The problem with the FragFX and other devices like it are that the stick motions for games are throttled. So the farther you push the stick the more it increases the movement in that direction. There is not real middle ground for even movement.
