We'll probably see this film on Blu-ray eventually, but I'm not sure if it will be any time soon. Although Oliver & Company is pretty well-known, I think Disney is most likely putting more focus on their Diamond Edition releases and other more popular titles for the time being. We still haven't seen hardly any of the 90's "Renaissance" films on Blu-ray yet *Beauty and the Beast & Fantasia 2000 are the only ones), let alone anything from the 80's (The Fox and the Hound will be the first).

The "20th Anniversary Edition" just came out in 2009, but I am not sure if that restoration is HD ready or if it will need another pass. 2013 is the 25th anniversary of Oliver & Company, so maybe we'll get a surprise release that year! I just hope they give as much attention-to-detail in the restoration of this film as they do with the more revered classics.

so, would u say its safe 2 buy the DVD for now then? And, the end of the rennaissance i thought Oliver and co. did better than them, like Hercules and Hunchback

I say it is safe to buy it if you like it. I think if this were coming to blu we would have heard an announcement already. You are probably safe for at least 18 months.

I haven't seen this one since I saw it in the theater when it came out. I think it largely gets ignored since it preceded the new Disney animated revolution by a year.
