Default Whay are some USED Blus ~$7.99, and others still $24+?!?!

Granted the movies, but I just picked up "The Bucket List" USED for $5.99, and "P.S. I Love You" for $7.99 at Newbury Comics in the Boston area. How come other USED Blus still run over the $24 mark?

I am thinking the cheap ones aren't selling, and/or a new version is in the works.

Ideas?

It's called a free market. Items are priced according to what the market will pay.

Newbury Comics probably has a million copies of those that people have traded in, and they want to get rid of them. They know that people aren't gonna pay top dollar for such titles, hence the lower price.

Newbury Comics specifically is all over the map with their blu pricing. I think it'll settle down soon -- their used DVD pricing is much more reasonable and consistent. I think they're basing their pricing off MSRP, which would be reasonable, except that many titles are typically selling at 50-60% off new.

Yes, they have some decent deals (just picked up Sex and the City for the Mrs. for $5.99), but right now a lot of their used prices are more expensive than Amazon's new prices.

This is my feeling as well.

I have a couple used places by me and I notice the same thing. Typically when a movie is newer, the used copies are a little more. Wait a month or two after a movie is out and the prices drop quite a bit. I always buy used though whenever possible. No point in paying top dollar when you can get the same thing used for 1/3 of the price.

The first thought I had was, Newbury Comics is a mess. Their blu-ray prices are all over the place. I like to go in there and see if I can find a deal on a used blu, sometimes I snag a recent release for $5-9. But more often then not, their prices are all screwed up on the high side. I've seen used blus there listed for $39! Maybe it's just at my location but the Newbury here is really goofy price-wise.

I know that Newbury's pricing is effected by how many copies they have used.

If they have 3 copies or something they won't even accept anymore for trade in even if you just say they can have them for nothing.
