If you love "Lock, Stock" and "Snatch" then go with "RocknRolla". It really should have been the 3rd movie made by Ritchie and is a return to the fun, gangster movies that he became famous for making.

thanks for the advice, i was kind of leaning toward this 1 but just wanted to make sure he was back to his roots, loved Snatch but didn't care for Revolver much

I would go for Pride & Glory over Rock "N" Rolla. I started RNR and didn't like it. Pride is a slow film but it is a fine cop drama with some great acting.

The Wrestler was amazing (Rourke for best actor ) and I just watched Taken and it was a straight-up wicked action film

I watched Taken and was blown away by how much of a badass he was in the film... WOW!

As for the question the OP has... RocknRolla is no Revolver. I thought Revolver was an ok film until the final 30 minutes when it became bad. RocknRolla is back to Ritchie's style of "get a group of shady characters together who are looking for the same thing and then have them interact with each other in many violent and comical ways".

It's not as good as Snatch but I think I might like it a little more than "Lock, Stock" although this would have been better with Vinnie Jones in it. :-(

RocknRolla was a great fun action/crime/comedy, that's almost as good as Lock Stock/Snatch. It's still worth watching. 8/10

Pride and Glory was your standard by numbers family cop movie. Edward Norton is in fine form, everyone else is not. There's one standout scene toward the end I found rather amusing, but I definitely wouldn't watch it again. 6/10

RocknRolla is my pick.

I loved RocknRolla. But I agree with the first response, you can't really compare the two as movies at all. As a purchase, I definitely recommend RocknRolla.

The Wrestler was my favorite movie of 2008 besides The Dark Knight. Besides it being such an emotional, character-driven film, I took a special liking to it, and it instantly got on my top 10 favorite movies. I just love how it was so real. And it had a truly gifted cast. (off-topic i know)

If you've not seen RockNRolla it's DEFINITELY a Guy Ricchie film. haha. It's good though I liked it. never seen the other so I can't give an honest answer... But I liked RNR.
