First, I would recommend returning the Panamax. Seems extreme overkill if you paid >$200 for it. You don't need a battery backup unless you have a bulb to be concerned with. As for the need for a power conditioner and surge protector, I'd read through the current thread discussing this. I bought mine for $100, and it gives me piece of mind, but knowing more today, I'd probably not spend the $$. But I digress.

As for what to plug into where? I suppose keeping the sub in the high current is fine. Everything else can go wherever you want it.

The receiver and/or amp is mainly what you want plugged into the high current bank. Plugging the sub into it wouldn't hurt either, but isn't as critical.

I fail to understand why people go into left field when someone asks a certain question.

What does the price they paid for this item have to do with his original question?

He is concerned with where to plug things into his new Panamax and you are talking about prices.

According to the Panamax website this unit has 10 outlets: 4 Switched, 2 Battery Backup, 2 Switched High Current, 2 Always On. You might want to list your equipment so we can give recommendations.

Why? Because based on the OPs question, I reasoned he was a novice at all of this HT business. As a novice, I also reasoned that he spent a ton of $$ on a piece of equipment that was pretty much unnecessary. It's no different than advising folks who overpay for Monster cables that there are cheaper (and equally as good) alternatives. If I didn't have a good idea what I was doing, I'd want advice from those who do. Simple as that.

Did it hurt you in some way? Are you a Panamax dealer who will potentially loose a sale because of my comments? Or do you simply have nothing better to do than search-out threads in which you can crap?

Yes this is me, I have nothing better to do just as you and just crap on other people threads.

If you figured he was a novice, you could have helped the novice with his question.

You have no idea what he paid and/or if he overpaid. If a person wants to spend or overpay for Monster product or any other over priced item, then that’s their business. His question was how to hook things up to it, not about what he paid or not paid.

Maybe you should have helped with the thread concerning if he should get it or not, but this thread had nothing to do with prices.

Your reasoning is just FAIL! Learn how to help! Or maybe not!

Most subs should be plugged directly to the wall. I know my SVS manual said to go direct, as did my Emotiva amp.
