Default Help with the Yamaha RX-V765?

I have the Ps3 60gb that I use for Blu-ray movies/Games. My question is, my PS3 60gb dose not support DTS-HD or True HD audio ( So that is how I understand it ) so how can I set it up to get the DTS-HD or TRUE-HD audio out of it? My Yamaha RX-V765 dose the DTS-HD and True-HD, so how do I set it up to that way? Can anyone help me out with this?

Plus, anyone that uses the Yamaha RX-V765 how do I get it to say DTS-HD or True-HD? Another guy on here told me it has to be set up that way, but after looking at the on tv set-up guide, and the paper work, I don't see it, am I missing something?

Thanks guys.

If nobody here knows off the top of their head how to do this, I will check my manual and try to remember how I got mine changed after I get home from work tonight.

with an older 60gb ps3, you're never going to see "TrueHD" or "DTS-HD" light up on your rx v765. you're going to see "PCM". which is fine, you're still getting the hd audio. you have to set your ps3 to output the audio via lcpm. i'm not sure of the direct menu option, but if you do a search, you'll find a multitude of instructions on how to do this...

to answer your second question, to see what the receiver is de-coding you need to hit the "info" button on the remote. it will cycle through the input, dsp program, and what the current audio format is. again, in your case with the older ps3, you're only going to see "PCM." to determine what your ps3 is decoding(since it can decode hd audio internally), just hit the "select" button on the ps3 controller.

finally, there actually is nothing that lights up on the receiver when it's decoding hd audio. the info button will tell you what codec it's outputting on the front display. but to see this, you will need either a ps3 slim or a bitstream capable player...

The PS3 connection is where I had no knowledge. Sounds like you got your answer.
