I'll give you the top 3:

1) Star Wars
2) Lord of the Rings: Extended Editions
3) Alien Anthology (Released in 2010, but I still think it will be number 3 for 2011)

Unless Paramount pulls a fast one a decided on releasing the Indiana Jones box set, with a fanboys dream of a Spielberg commentary on all four movies. Thus making Indy 4 worth a double-dip.

Dont underestimate the power of the DINO.

Jurassic Park appeals to a wider audience. Start Wars is almost limited to a VERY large but selected target audience,SciFi fans and a few acceptions. There's ALWAYS acceptions to this rule.

And even some of those die hard SciFi fans refuse to buy ONLY the pimped out versions of Star Wars, tthey want the ORIGINAL.

Is there really any competition here?

Star Wars will easily sell the most, because even the fansboys who just want the originals will still buy it.

Even with the factors you mentioned, I would venture to say that Star Wars would outsell Jurassic Park by a pretty wide margin.

I couldn't disagree more.

There are far more people wanting to buy Star Wars than there are for Jurassic Park. In theory, yes, Jurassic Park would appeal to a wider auidence, but Star Wars is such a huge, vast empire of a franchise that it'll knock down any competitors. To say it's limited to a selected target audience is just a ridiculous statement if I ever heard one, because it appeals to many kinds of people and if anything they're not really sci-fi movies, but more space fantasy.

I think all of them would generate good sales however Starwars and LOTR EEs will top the others.

My top three would be:

1) Star Wars (This will set the boxset record!!)

2) Lord of the Rings: Extended Editions

3) Jurassic Park Trilogy

Jurassic Park sell better than the Alien Anthology? Highly doubtful.

Regardless, Alien Anthology isn't in the poll, nor was it released this year.

Wow the son of Jor-El is getting absolutely no love in this thread, guess he has less fans here than I thought.

SW, but I bet it'll be a close call between it and LOTR.

It's going to be Star Wars. Lord Of The Rings will be popular but at a much lower lever, many of those who got the TE set from last year will not bother getting this new EE set.

While Jurassic Park will sell good, I don't see it coming close to Star Wars

Unfortunately, Star Wars will get the top spot in your little list.

LOTR EE is far more deserving of selling more though.

I've always found Star Wars to be too much of a near direct biblical analogy in space.

That's part of the reason they are such great films with the exception of Attack of the Clones.
