Default Moving. Best setup?

Aight im moving in 2 weeks so Im trying to plan ahead so I can buy new speaker wire, race tracks, and stand. New place is a rental so cant wall mount the tv so I plan on buying a new stand with a built in mount. Of course the couch might be angled depending on the setup as well. I want to do setup option 1 while the wife wants option 2 so she can watch tv from the kitchen. I have 7.1 so I might as well hang up all the speakers.

Thanks in advance for input.

I'm gonna say option 1 looks better.

Option 1. More time to spend with family at table, or at least you can tell her that.

For acoustics option 1 is better, but make sure you place your subwoofer near the front speakers.

Ya, option 1 is the better of the two. Corner set ups are hard to pull off b/c of seating and then wrestling with the speaker positions/acoustics. There is a member here that has done this though..Maybe someone can remember his set up as he added a drop down projector screen to his mix (also might have red walls too).

Option one clearly works better for sheer audio enjoyment, but option two looks more practical and livable. Back in college I had to remove the back speakers in a similar setup because careless roommates and friends kept knocking them over.

Option 1 unquestionably! Get your wife a small LCD for the kitchen...don't sacrifice the proper setup you have in your option.

I hate to be late to the party, but for acoustics (like everyone else has said) Option 1 is your only "option".

I showed her my diagram and she agreed if she gets a tv in the kitchen... pffft ya right lol I might still loose this battle and have to do the corner bit I will fight this one lol If she expects a new couch she best wise up lol I started searching for stands and think I found one that I like. I even went ahead and photoshopped some of my stuff in there (prolly not to scale lol) just for kicks lol

what ya guys think? lol I would just have to find a spot for the center speaker.

I would move the TV table (in option 2) so that it will be parallel to the couch (as in option 1) and then to apply option 1 speakers arrangements on option 2 configuration. Thus, the wife will be happy too.
Just my thought
