Anyone have problems playing Reign Of Fire? - Blu-ray Forum

I have a Sony BDP-S300 with firmware 3.70 and Reign Of Fire is giving me all sorts of problems. It completely stops on the third scene and I can't get anywhere. It just keeps going back to the main menu. I can't even choose scenes after 3. And then I shut off the player and turned it back on and hit play and it says "Cannot play this disc" on the screen and on the front of the player.

Sorry, wouldn't know, don't have it. If I were you, I'd sell it back, it's a terrible movie anyways. Nearly ruined Christian Bale's career. Who knows, had he not done this, Batman might have come out earlier and we'd have that and the Dark Knight on BD already. Just kidding, it's an o.k. movie. I hope you get it working.

you should be happy you cant waste 2 hours with that terrible movie... i thought it'd be a decent flick just based on the cast.... boy was i wrong.

That's exactly why I got it from Netflix, based on the cast. I am sending it back tomorrow

It's just odd how it stopped playing and then the player couldn't read it anymore.

interesting. i happened to like the movie quite a lot. very unique with very good acting, an exciting plot and well played out throughout the entire movie. ah, but to each his own. you probably like anime and that....is retarded.

i own the same system as you and it works fine on mine, could be a scratched disc or something

I own it and it plays fine for me on my S301 is it a great movie no but I like it and I am sure other people do to talk about a movie that is pointless and over rated see blade runner

yeah thats basically impossible... it could be retarded and still play

Pristine disc now not playing multiple players. Have played it on several Panasonics in years past. Now not being recognized by a Panny DMP-BDT220 and OPPO UDP-203. Sent a message to Disney via their consumer relations site.

Do you have the ability to play the movie file individually using a PC? It may be your only option if you can't get it to work on a player.

1) Try a different brand player

I decided to try my copy and so far it is playing fine on my older Oppo 93.

Bit strange. My UK copy plays fine and I think both releases use the same disc as there both region free.

As far as the film itself. Yes it's not a masterpiece by any means. I watched it originally as a kid so have a bit of nostalgia for it but it's a film I enjoy watching. Very much a popcorn type film.

The third act is pretty cringe-worthy, but the first 2/3rds of the film is well done IMHO.
