Cool Michael Bay Ripping Off His Own Movies?????

This guy makes enough money that you would think that he doesn't have to recycle a shot from 2005's "The Island" and re-edit the shot into "Transformers 3". Watch for yourself for those who haven't seen it yet.

The reason the footage was used was because in the original footage shot for TF3 a stuntman was seriously injured and out of respect for him, the footage was not used, so they used this shot from the island instead.

Case closed.

His Bad Boys movies also ripped off several gags from Jackie Chan's Police Story. Tea Leoni jumping into the pool from Bad Boys 1; Martin comedicly juggling multiple phone calls at once; Martin protecting a pretty witness and earning her trust by lying to her; the climactic downhill chase from Bad Boys 2 is lifted shot for shot from the opening of Police Story. severall others I cant think of right now...

really? isnt the sacred rule that if a stuntman is hurt perfrorming a stunt, that shot makes the final film no matter what?

I wonder if Bay was pissed that Bay copied Bay's action scenes for Bay's other movie.

Whoopty Do. It's freaking Transformers......

Facts people, facts:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transfo...Moon#Accidents

So the filmed footage wasn't used due to the nature of the accident.

It wasn't a stuntman. It was a female extra. A cable broke when it shouldn't and nearly killed her. Bay did it out of respect, and I see nothing wrong with that. It was actually the best thing he could do I feel.

I would not use the word facts and wikipedia in the same sentence.

whether or not it was because of the person being injured i see no problem in reusing a scene as long as it fits in the movie big deal? saves some cash too

and this was already reposted a billion times in the transformers thread

Don't think its a big deal, reusing this footage from The Island wasn't going to make T3 any better or any worse. Now, had he reused a scene featuring Scarlett Johanson, then T3 would have gotten better

The reason is because that extra was hurt during the filming of the sequence, which resulted in a temporary halt to the filming. Since the sequence couldn't be finished, they added snippets from The Island in an atempt to salvage it.

I honestly don't see what the problem is with this.

He also used some footage from Pearl Harbour in the first Transformers.

In both films all the resused footage fits in and the vast majority of people if you asked them wouldn't know it was originally from a totally different film!

It's no big deal really.
