Anybody sell a lot of stuff on ebay? Are they really doubling the fees? - Blu-ray Forum

The way I understand the new fee structure is as follows:

9% flat rate......

Today if I start an item at $0.01 and it sells for $550 I pay $20.57 in ebay fees.

In march I will pay $49.50 to ebay in fees on the same $550 item...

Is this for real?

And then Paypal takes it's cut as well. I quit selling on ebay three years ago, and I thought it was getting rediculous then! The competition to sell drop ship products is virtually profitless when everyone else is trying to sell the very same items.

If you have a unique item, your odds of making a nice little profit is far, far greater depending upon the item. Ebay is a buyer driven company now. Much like all business.

oH YEA, well get this...

eBay is trying to be like Amazon now, so customer service comes first. So If I as a buyer,make a purchase (lets say I was one of them fools that paid 60.00 for a zhu zhu pet back around xmas) and I later decide I dont want it, or do something even sneakier and rebuy it at WM for 8.00 and mail it back to you, You are now required to give me a full refund including the shipping. How is that Fair?
Now Amazon requires sellers to accept returns however a small restock fee can be deducted and/or shipping doesnt have to be refunded. I think thats only fair.

eBay is working themselves from a once unique format, to the average ordinary everyday e-tailer platform. I guess the 'roots' that built them, they are soon forgetting. I really hope it works for them

It looks like you have to sell an item for around $2,000 to see any kind of fee decrease.

Such a rip off and the reason I quit selling on there long ago. As a matter of fact I don't even buy on there anymore either. Between their charges and paypal's charges it just isn't worth it anymore.

I might go on Half.com and buy, but not eBay anymore. They are just too corrupt for my tastes.

I quit trying to sell stuff on ebay a while back when they kept knocking my item off saying it was against the rules, but there 3 or 4 more of the EXACT same thing for sale and they were fine.

I still buy occasionally.
