my Resevoir Dogs disc is not playing on my PS3 - Blu-ray Forum

I just got Resevoir Dogs on Blu-Ray from blockbuster online. The movie will not play on my PS3. It's giving me the same error code as the above Chronos post.

Does anyone else have the same problem?

Thanks in advance for helping me out on this one fellas.

Seems to be fine for me. I had played it with an older firmware, and it still plays with 1.54.

im in the uk i have a japanese ps3 and usa version of resevoir dogs and it plays fine on my system

i just bought it and it works fine for me..not one skip or anything....guess u got a bad disk...im also running the new firmware update

Maybe it's just Blockbusters copy, because I am having the same problem with the disc Blockbuster sent me this is also on a PS3. I'm going to stop by blockbuster and swap with another copy.

Just tried it. No problems here.

Check to see if there are smudges on the disc, and clean it. I'd ask about scratching, but these BD discs do seem to be amazingly durable.

I have the same problem, but with a brand new unopened disc, on a Region 1 250GB slim PS3. Still no solution I guess...

Some early blu-ray releases from the 1st batches manufactured in 2006 and 2007 are known to no longer work in the ps3 even if they used to. Newer ps3 firmware seems to be the cause, because most of these blu's from the 1st batches manufactured that experience this problem on the ps3 still work just fine on stand alone blu-ray players. There are already 1 or 2 threads open where members have been discussing this issue.

I only found one other thread, but yours is the first explanation I've seen. But is there a solution? Can I contact Lionsgate and get a replacement disc?

I've seen 2 threads that it was discussed in but 1 of them wasn't opened for that reason. I don't know if replacement programs are in place, though I do remember someone mentioning it. All I did was repurchase the blu's I owned which experienced this problem, swapped over the discs, and then returned them to the retailer where I bought them as faulty for a full refund. I don't want to wait weeks or even months for a replacement to come in the mail, it's not my problem that some movies are defective to begin with, so I just let the retailer deal with it.

Guess I'll just have to pirate a ripped version.
