300 Blu-ray vs. 300 HD DVD - Blu-ray Forum

Don't you like how Warner Bros. was so quiet about releasing 300 on HD DVD? I'd like to see the first weeks sales numbers of 300 on Blu-ray versus 300 on HD DVD. I think that will shed some light on the situation... Do you?

I also have 300 on preorder. I never got to watch the last 1/3 of the movie and I cant wait to finish it.

It was awesome. What happened you didn't get to see the last 1/3? People too loud or the picture sucked?

LOL No (those would be good reasons). Someone in my class had a digital version on DVD. We watched it at a meeting and I saw the first third. Then I watched another third in class. I never gott around to watching the final battle.

Also on a side note Im not a fan of pirated movies.

Got mine pre-ordered. Cant wait to hear This is SPARTA!!!!!! in 5.1..lol Circuit citys trailer says that 300 is going to do for Bluray what The Matrix did for DVD. Cant wait. Hd-dvd takes everything but gives nothing. Any owners of this brand of high def is dining in HELL. lol

I loved the film. Frank Miller has a great style that did not make the story feel corny but fresh. It really pulled me into the story even though I went in already knowing the plot.

I sure hope that the Blu-ray presentation doesn't disappoint. Unfortunately this film is owned by Warner and I'm a little apprehensive about the video encoding in VC-1.

Here's hoping for the best. I have it pre-ordered with Amazon.

I'll be getting the BLU-ray, my dad will be getting the HD DVD. The BLU should outsell the HD by a large margin, 5-1 wouldn't surprise me, seeing as this is right up the alley for the majority of PS3 owners. I will note that this is the first HD DVD I'm really interested in seeing the Picture in Picture special feature. PinP commentary tracks don't mean much to me, but I'm quite curious as to how much they built in the way of sets. Doubtful I'll watch the whole feature like that, but as a film buff that really is a cool concept for an extra.
