Questions:
1. What are peoples opinions about the Digital Copy? Is it something you really like and transfer to your computer? Do you think it raises the cost of BRD's in cases where it's included? 2. Has anyone else had issues transferring Hangover and Dark Knight- I keep getting a pop up message about needing some kind of Adobe Airproduct to run the Digital Copy manager you need for it. However, when it informs you it will be installed at the same time, I try to click yes and it is frozen. 3. Star Trek- I cant get it to work. It says you should get the usual pop up that asks you if you want to Transfer the file. I dont get that- the Windows Media player keeps popping up and asking for me to setup. 4. Disney- for my Up, Monsters Inc., and Nightmare Before X-mas I did not receive inserts for the digital copy codes. How can I get them or can someone share theirs? I am guessing not since they are probably limited to one computer per code. Last edited by drichter33; 02-02-2010 at 03:39 PM. |

as far as having difficulties, i have yet to encounter any. they have all transferred easiliy. im wondering though in the ones you didnt receive codes for, did you buy these movies new, or did you buy them used? Disney Up, monster, inc and nightmare before christmas i bought all new and each one had a code. i would think Up and monsters inc should still be active downloads so if you bought them new and they didnt have codes then perhaps there was a packaging error. I think though, and im going from memory that the code for the downloads is the same code used for the diney rewards, again im not for certain on that |

1) I have 50+ movies in my classic iPod. Great to listen to in the office when you're tired of listening to music. I find digicopies useful.
2) No issues with TDK, or Hangover 3) Are you trying to use iTunes? If so make sure you're up to date. At least itunes version 9.0 or higher. 4) Did you buy the SteelBooks for those movies. If so they didn't come with the code.. MAYBE except for Monsters Inc. You might want to contact Disney to retrieve one. |

I am using Windows Media Player.
As for the Disney Movies, they were bought new at Best Buy back in November when all the deals were out there to get Up Monsters and Cars for 30-40 bucks. They were gifts for my son, so we opened them on X-mas, and just opened them a week ago for viewing. There were no inserts with them. I think there is a number on one of them i may call. Not sure why Star Trek wont just open up with the Transfer Screen |

to clarify on Star Trek, I get a screen that looks like the Enterprises controls and says "To Get a Digital Copy of this movie insert this disc into the DVD or BRD Rom drive" which is silly since the disc is in there to trigger this message.
I am sure there are other posts about this, but if people are willing to reply to this one and help out, then I appreciate it. Wouldnt be the first time a thread has been repeated. And time wise at work, it was easier to just start one. |

I find digital copies are great to have on my desktop computer (mac), laptop (mac), and I pop a couple on my itouch and ipod so I can carry entertainment with me when I travel. Battery power tends to be short on the itouch when watching movies. I solved that issue by purchasing a Mophie Juice Pack (search Google if interested) which serves as a case/external battery. It extends the itouch battery life long enough for a full day of traveling around allowing me to listen to music, watch video/movies, play games...whatever while on the go. Obviously, I am fan of digital copies. I do have a couple of gropes about them: Some are PC only ![]() They have expiration dates ![]() So if you have digital copies, get them on your computers before they expire. |

Chill out Mr. "i pwn noobs" - I think people need to seriously relax on the whole topic-police BS. How about if people think a topic has been done to death, they don't post on it, and the thread will die a natural death? If it doesn't, that means there's enough new interest for the thread to stay alive. This is still an emerging technology - new membership should be expected and welcomed - we all haven't been here since the beginning - don't you see how us newer members may not be interested in reading a years old thread on a subject?
I accept your apology in advance. |

^ yes, plus the search feature on this forum is not great - it always comes up with a million results.
I like have a digital copy on my iTunes, I haven't had a HUGE amount of use for them yet but I can see myself doing so in the future. Today I got the Coraline gift set, however, and it came with no code - for codes to expire/not be included IS bad when it's a selling point of the set. Same goes for DVD copies - to be honest I can rip DVD copies really easily so I don't NEED a digital copy AS WELL if it includes a DVD copy (and it is a bit of a waste if it comes on its own extra disc), but it is a bit quicker than having to rip from the DVD. One thing that's annoying about both digital copies AND extra DVD versions is that they may not be region free when the BD is. So you'll get a region 1/2 DVD and a region-free BD. Granted, region free DVD players are easier to to come by than region free BD players, but playing them on a computer (especially a mac if you've run out of region changes!) can be a bit more of a hassle. Same goes for digital copies - they can only be redeemed at the itunes store for the country in which the BD was bought. It's not that bad for me cos I have bank accounts in both the US and the UK at the moment so can switch between pretty easily, but for many I think that could be annoying. ![]() Last edited by nametag; 02-02-2010 at 05:51 PM. |
