Default Hettrick Blog: Eli Roth and Comic Con

Hey Everyone,

Check out Scott Hettrick's latest blog and video coverage of comicon. He has a great interview with Eli Roth about Blu-ray technology:

As a kid, all I ever dreamed of was having my own movie theater in my house and finally with the Blu-ray player you get that feeling. It was the first time I ever really said ‘This is what it must feel like to have a movie theater in your house.’
Please feel free to check out the video

Thanks!

A director that is also a huge movie fan saying how great Blu-Rays are. I liked the bit about LaserDisc as well. Nice endorsment.

I know Eli Roth has a good relationship with Tarantino. It'd be nice if he put some good words in for Blu-ray with him. Though Tarantino has a habit of collecting actual original prints and showing them in his own private home theatre so Blu-ray might be a step down for him...heh.

Either way it's good to see a prominent member of the Splat pack go Blu.

Step down?

yeah a BD player is a nifty portable 35mm projector. Ever try moving a real one?

Or carrying a 35mm print?

So much for Harry Knowles' attempts to convert his filmmaker pals -- around the time of his rant for hd-dvd, he said he spoke to Eli Roth about it and eli was "undecided"... well, guess that Eli isn't undecided anymore (not that there was any doubt as all of his movies are owned by Lionsgate!)
