Default Do you know a lot about the most useless stuff?

Do you find yourself easily remembering pop culture trivia? Do you find yourself knowing the answers to really obscure history or science questions? Do you watch Jeopardy, Cash Cab, or Who Wants To Be a Millionaire just to see if they're challeneging enough for you?

This happens to me all the time. Someone will be talking about an actor or movie and I'll be able to tell them everything about that person or movie. Then people look at me wierd because I knew something they didn't. Does this happen to anyone else?

That's me all over, however when I emigrated to States from the UK, I had to start all over again with a lot of the useless crap that I knew.

You should see the weird obscure references my brother and I make while having conversations. The amount of times that we jump topics really confuses people.

We even discuss obscure topics like Smurfs and how they relate to Communisim.

A fun thing to say in a conversation is that on average for every 8 seconds of conversation there is a pause of silence. This usually causes said pause.

What's up with that? disbelief?

Some of my friends actually likes it or find it interesting when I ramble on, partly because I know when to stop.
But they just don't know what to do/make of with it.
because it's useless...

I don't ramble on, I just stick the info in like a quick jab and move on.

then when they ask how I know that my answer is usually along the lines of...
"because I'm not a complete retard"

Everywhere I go I'm always the "movie trivia guy". Or the guys that knows a lot about music, etc. I've been labeled as such numerous times in my life. I'm used to it.

I love it when people ask how I know something....I usually ask them why they didn't know it.
