Note: I am having some trouble getting this disc to play in my multiregion Oppo BDP-103. On all three regions, the disc loads, but the time code stays at zero and I get a blank screen. I tried playing the disc in my Region A Oppo BDP-103D and that worked fine, both with an outdated, and the most recent firmware, however, updating the multiregion Oppo to the same firmware did not remedy the issue.
As usual, the ancient version of PowerDVD (that came bundled from Dell) on my PC is useless with this disc, as it is with so many BDs I get, so that doesn't provide any more info. I don't have any other players to hand to check the disc with, so I have to assume it is defective. The disc looks fine and is scanning now with BDInfo. AnyDVD was not able to automatically detect a region code on the disc, and though the packaging states it is Region A, my suspicion is that the disc is not locked, particularly as the disc appears to have been authored by Universal. |

I put the disc in last night but didn't turn on the TV for about 15 minutes because I had some work to do. When I did, I saw the menu and the disc played fine.
I turned the player and TV on just now to watch the features, and now it doesn't play. I'm hoping it will after 15 minutes like last night ![]() It's a pain in the ass, but if it's the only way I can watch the disc, I can find something to do for 15 minutes. A smaller (maybe even brand new) studio released this, so they must have screwed up somewhere. I have a Panasonic 89 region free player. |

I've spent more time on this than I should have
![]() It never worked again in my region free Panasonic player, though when I tried it in my Phillips player, it worked. I ejected it and inserted it 3 times, and it worked perfectly (that's what she said). Then I tried it on my other Panasonic Blu-Ray player (same model as the region free player only not region free), and it didn't work. Finally, I tried it on my first player that I no longer use, a Sylvania, and it worked. In my eyes, it has worked on 2 out of 3 players (since both Panasonic players are basically the same). I noticed the other 2 users who have commented have Oppo players, so it looks like the disc isn't compatible with certain Oppo and Panasonic players. I still don't know why it worked for me the first time. |

This was actually one of my favorite movies of 2015. A huge surprise for me, and I loved every minute.
I got the disc a day early and gave it a spin on Monday. Played the movie and features with no problems. Appears to work fine on all the players in the house, too. Really sorry to hear that people are having trouble with this. ![]() |

This is odd. I knew that I had the current firmware update, but I checked for updates, and it of course said I had the current version. Then I played the disc again for the 30th time, and now it works. Checking for the update must have triggered something, even when an update wasn't installed.
I love a good wild goose chase, especially when it has a happy ending. |

I just watch Blu-Rays, I'm not an expert on the technical side of things, but something went wrong with this disc. Many others have had problems, which I saw after looking at Amazon reviews. |

I bought the Blue Ray "A Walk in the Woods" and found it to be defective. I have three Blue Ray players and it didn't play on any of them and they are made by 2 different manufacturers. I returned the movie and bought another copy which was also defective. A lot of other people have also had this problem based on information boards on the web and on Red Box as well. I wonder if the movie will be recalled or re-manufactured correctly as I really want to see this movie. Has anyone else had this problem as well?

This is being PULLED from some retailers and sent back. The vendor should step up and put out something so we do not all think our players are at fault!
Carry on! |

I asked OPPO customer service about this disc, and got a quick reply:
Under Device Setup and Persistent Storage, clear the Persistent Storage. Make sure that you select OK as the default action is CANCEL. You will then need to connect the player to the internet using Wireless or Ethernet. With the player on, wait 30 minutes. Insert the disc and initiate playback. The disc should now load and will not require being on the internet or waiting before starting it in the future. |
