Basically, he's at the point where Universal STILL wants to throw him every hi-concept comedy that they used to back in the 90's--
But Carrey (just a step away from Bill Murray) has now ambitiously gotten bored with his old image, wants to indulge his inner Peter Sellers and do Shocking Offbeat Roles for quirky indie directors, and only takes one Universal mainstream comedy out of five, just to pay the bills between the gigs he wants to do. And since he doesn't want to DO the Yes Mans, Bruces Almighty, and Funs with Dick and Jane, those are the ones he socks the studio $25M a picture for. It's supposed to be a hint.
