Default Detroit Rock City vs Dazed and Confused

These movies are both more similar than they are distant:

* Both take place in the 70s.
* Both are "coming of age" movies.
* Both have high school deviants.
* Both have a great selection of music.
* Both have THC references
* Both have side plot romance stories

I recently watched Detroit Rock City, and I personally feel that it's the better movie (I love how the plot branches out at the end, and you get to see what happens to each individual after they get screwed over). It just took me by surprise, and the first thing I said when it was over was "Damn, this could be better than dazed and confused...I had a BLAST!". The cinematography was incredible, and the soundtrack is pristine!

I'll vote for Detroit Rock City. It has the best rock band in the world, and I think the movie plays out much smarter than Dazed and Confused.

I would be even willing to say that Detroit Rock City is much funnier as well.

Been awhile since I have seen Detroit Rock City but I don't recall liking it at all. Definitely have gotten more enjoyment out of watching Dazed and Confused.

I'm gonna have to agree with you about Detroit Rock City, I love that movie. I personally think Dazed and Confused is overated.

I absolutely love both movies, but I have to give the edge to Dazed. Detroit is a great movie though and is highly underrated. Being a huge Kiss fan helps too, but you really don't have to be...and that's what makes it a great movie.

I love dazed & confused. A lot more replay value for me personally.

“there’s some freaky stuff going on on the back of the $1 bill man!!!”

Definitely 'Dazed and Confused.'

Here's hoping for a BD release someday!

Detroit Rock City, but only because I'm a KISS fan. I'm not into teenage, burnout comedies anymore. I actually find them stupid & annoying.
