United Kingdom problems The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button (not 24P)

I bought the UK Version at Amazon some time ago.

When I play the movie, it seems not to be 24P on my TV (when I hit the pause button it shows "BD Video" and not "BD Video - 24P" as usual.

Except some documentaries and concert registrations almost all of my blu-rays are filmed in 24P.

In reviews I read always "1080p" and "24 fps" as specifications for the main movie.

So what's wrong here??? Could it be a bad disc?

Have you changed the settings on your player??

Do you need to update the firmware??

Firmware is up to date. Everything plays well. Not changed any settings.

Watched "Stardust", "Inglourious Basterds" and "X-Men 1" last week.

Just this disc doesn't mention "24P" on my screen.

My version says it's 24P, so I think it has to do with the settings on your player. I doubt that one copy of a pressing somehow wasn't done in 24P.

Have Panasonic blu-ray player (part of SC-BTX70 HTIB).

It's the only disc that should be "24P" that won't play as "24P". Everything else works perfect.

When I choose the more detailed "playback information" i get this:

Disc: 1080/24p VC1 True HD 5.1
HDMI: 1080/60p YCbCr4:4:4

Is this ok?

Shouldn't HDMI be: 1080/50p?

In my opinion that's the reason why my tv doesn't show "BD Video - 24P" in stead of "BD Video".

Yeah it should be 50HZ not 60HZ. What release do you have. It looks like 1080i and not 1080p from the specs you have given.

I have the Warner Bros UK 2 disc set. BDINfo says it's 1080p/23.976fps.

Strange ... Could it be the HDMI-cable?

I wouldnt think it would be a problem with the cable. Can you try other films to make sure it is outputting in 1080/24p??

All other 1080p blu-ray discs work perfectly with 24P output (Braveheart, The Patriot, 3:10 To Yuma, Stardust, No Country For Old Men, Kill Bill 1 & 2, Inglourious Basterds, There Will Be Blood, Up, Wall-E, Matrix Trilogy, Spiderman Trilogy,...).

Only this film refuses 24P.

Checked for latest firmware updates, checked if 24P on my BRD & TV (Pana P42V10 is with 24P option too) were on. Settings should be ok too.

There shouldn't be any 50hz material on there at all. And 1080i/60hz is perfectly feasible and preferable to a PAL derived 1080i/50hz job.

Have no idea what's wrong with this disc.

Am I the only person in the world with a 1080i version?
