![]() ![]() I did a search and didn't find any posts, so hopefully this is alright. Has anyone gotten the Region B version of Let the Right One In? It's Region-free so you can still play it on a Region A system. Also, you may have heard that Magnolia screwed up the subtitles for the A release, but the subtitles are correct here. In terms of features, it has a commentary that Magnolia's lacked. That was another big reason for me to get it as IMO commentaries are the best special features. It doesn't have the featurette or photo gallery (well, it has a photo gallery, but it doesn't work) that Magnolia had on theirs, but they're hardly missed. So overall I would definitely recommend this version over any other. Last edited by CyberGhostface; 01-22-2010 at 08:31 PM. |

Sorry, I did a search and checked out the page from the official site and nothing came up.
Can someone delete this? EDIT: I'm searching for "Let the Right One In" and I'm still not getting any links? Am I doing something wrong? Last edited by CyberGhostface; 01-22-2010 at 08:41 PM. |

Yeah, search engine definitely does not like LTROI. I've searched it too in the past and got the same thing. It's the only title it's happened to me on. |

The subtitles were fixed months ago (I bought one), so why do uneducated people keep dishing out mis-information about "unresolved subtitle issues"?

First the subtitles were never broken so how can they be "fixed"? The subtitles were translated differently than the theatrical edition. That would be a creative difference not an issue of breaking or fixing. The US edition with the subtitle controversy is not being recalled from store shelves or distributors (after all, it is not broken) Therefore retail inventories will include both versions and there is no reliable source of the "Theatrical" updated version. I would say that qualifies as "unresolved subtitle issues" This is a thread about what edition is best or your favorite. Having a commentary track or not is actually the point of debate. Educated people usually do not use a hyphen when spelling the word misinformation. |

I have checked every store within a 100 mile radius of myself, and NONE of the stores have the theatrical subtitles. I have physically checked about 50 titles, and not a single one had the corrected subtitles. So sorry if I am just "uneducated". |

Here is a link detailing the subtitle issue between the UK and US release:
http://iconsoffright.com/news/2009/0...les_in_to.html While it is correct that the new edition has been released by Magnet films, apparently it is extremely hard to find, and online places like Amazon.com do not distinguish between the 2 different version, so when you order it you will probably get the prior version with the inferior subtitles. Besides, the UK blu-ray is selling for L7.98 at www.amazon.co.uk (after VAT is taken off), which comes out to roughly $14.00. I would still like to see some screen cap comparisons to see if there is any significant difference between the 2, other than the extras. |

I have both the norwegian (which I'm guessing is about the same as the original swedish edition) blu-ray as well as the early magnolia uk edition.
I can't really say which one has the best quality, but the subtitles on my uk edition is horrible (the dubbing however is infinitely worse). However, this edition has the deleted scenes that the norwegian edition didn't have for some strange reason. The deleted scenes (the last one in particular) makes the buy worthwhile. The movie is my #7 favorite of all time. |
