Default Bluray.com domain name (no hyphen)?

I see that if you type www.bluray.com instead of www.blu-ray.com , you get some other site. Did someone opt not to renew the domain, and let it get taken over by a squatter?

Not a good thing.

Say it ain't so! They remind you a lot before that happens and there is also a waiting period. I'm sorry if it is true.

I guess it really doen't matter that much since the TM name is Blu-ray not Bluray. So this site has the better of the two since it is the actual correct way to write it out.

Many people won't remember to type the hyphen!

It's not exactly a big deal but it never ceases to amaze me how stupid organisations can be when it comes to protecting domain names.

bluray.com should have been in the posession of the BDA years ago.

You are right. What makes is worse is that the site is garbage.

Surprisingly, not an HD-DVD squatter who got it.

I'm guessing that most people find this site because it is frequently the first entry to pop up when you search for "blu-ray" (or "bluray") on Google.

I don't expect that to change.

I panicked for a moment, as I had bluray.com as my home page, and then it was gone! Totally forgot it just redirected to this site. I thought with all the talk about the grain in 300, the mods just said f*** it and shut it all down

No, most people won't remember to drop the "e" from Blue.

What's funny is that blue-ray.com and blueray.com are both actual sites, but only one has anything to do with movies.

Relax Everyone.

I just checked the WHOIS for "bluray.com" domain. It still appears to be under jurisdication of "Blu-ray.com" owners/operators. Maybe they are just f@#$ing around with their DNS or something for this URL.
