I have a Panamax Power Conditioner, works as advertised and I like the look of it more than those other two.

Some companies that would be considered more high-end are PS Audio and Furman.

Mine is a Belkin PF60 and it's done great by me. It reaplaced a PF30 because the PF30 no longer had enough outlets on it for my needs.

I use Monster Cable surge protectors and haven't had any problems...ok, once, I plugged my vacuum into it...popped the fuse....guess I shouldn't do that.

I got Monster because the price was right, but again, never a single problem with them. My house is over 50 years old and the original electrical is still present at most outlets...two-prong. I've replaced and grounded the outlets for my theatre and part of my kitchen and bathroom.

I've been considering a power conditioner...just can't bring myself to buy one of those yet though.

I own both Panamax and Monster. They both work and do the same thing. I have had a couple of snags with the Monster and my satellite or needing to be power cycled. Not really a big issue. Seems like many are using APC products lately. PS Audio and Furman are also worth looking at. It really comes down to what features you need and how much you want to spend.

Surge protector YES

Power conditioner = the biggest waste of money (unless you live in a hundred year old house in BFE)

I'm using 3 (similar to this one http://www.acehardware.com/product/i...ductId=3800624) to protect all my gear. Is that what the "Home Theater" ones do? Besides the battery back up. Most of the monster stuff are just surge suppressors right? I don't think I'd need a line conditioner on a newly constructed home?
