Default Dungeons & Dragons III ?

I had no idea this even existed. Anyone who owns this or seen it care to comment? Where would you say this would fall between the first two in story and quality?

I own both films and prefer Wrath of the Dragon God to the original.

Troy, the 3rd DnD film is a tragic case of a wasted opportunity. I was involved with the second film and even though the production team didn't have the same resources they had on the first film, they really wanted to ensure that they produced a good Dunegons And Dragons adventure, which is why the film is peppered with so many references to the source material.

For the 3rd film, it really seems that no-one's heart was in it. The script is substandard, the acting mediocre, the characters are genuinely unpleasant (we follow a young man who joins a bunch of sociopathic mercenaries whilst hiding his true intent) and the visual effects are substandard. I wanted to turn it off after 30 minutes, but kept watching to see how much worse it could get. Not recommended in any way. There cetainly isn't going to be a 4th film after this one.

I love the first film -- it's a laugh riot. Some of the worst acting I've ever seen. I have a suspicion Jeremy Irons knew exactly what he was doing dialing up the cheese so far past ten, he broke the dial. I remember hearing a story that the noob director of Dungeons and Dragons was upset that Jeremy Irons had come to the set without memorizing his lines. "It isn't @#$%ing Shakespeare." he told the director.

A story told by Irons at a later date goes that the only reason he took the role was that he needed some cash urgently to make major repairs to his castle in the south of ireland. DnD landed on his desk, was a few weeks away from shooting, and he agree'd. Basically he played the role with all of the gusto of a pantomime villain. He was one of the best things about it, but that's not saying much. It really is evident that director courtney solomon didn't have a clue what he was doing...

Thank You for setting me straight. I'll live without this sequel as you say it's bad. That opinion is shared from what I've read in the way of reviews.

As for D&D 2, I really like that film. Considering you had far less than the first in the way of budget I'm impressed with how good the film is. I feel it is superior to the first. You and everyone else involved are first class.

I'm going to try this one, big D&D fan. It can't be much worse than the first two movies.

This was by far the best of the trilogy, well worth it. Region A compatible as well.
