Default Veer Zaara REM BD vs. YRF BD Comparison Screenshots

For everyone's benefit and for those who directly use search function for comparison screenshots I am using a new thread to show comparison of Veer Zaara REM (Above) vs. YRF (Below) screenshots here.

Key difference in run time because of different cuts used :

REM BD Run time : 192 minutes 30 seconds (Theatrical edition)
YRF BD Run time : 196 minutes 30 seconds (Director's cut)

The YRF BD is the director's cut with the deleted song 'ye hum aa gaye hain kahan' added back. No other difference in the cuts. Also, note that in REM BD, the deleted song is NOT available separately as bonus feature.

Personally I prefer the Theatrical version. The director's cut hampers the narrative with an additional song over and above Tere Liye which already had hampered the narrative during final court proceedings.

IMPORTANT NOTE: It is very critical to have in mind that the YRF version of Veer Zaara looks much worse than it is visible here. The Gap between the two versions is significantly wider in reality. The reason the gap gets reduced in screenshots is that the YRF BD's color space was encoded with a PC color space. It should have been encoded with RGB color space because all Home theatre set ups, TVs and projectors use RGB color space. Hence when the YRF BD is viewed on a PC it looks pretty much acceptable if not great where as on an independent home theatre set up, the raised black levels tend to reach the point of 'light gray' and are horrifyingly unacceptable.
