glad amazon finally clarified that this is the blu-ray version.

I am much more willing to buy this compared to the 35 dollars they are asking alone for spidey 3. But I am a little disapointed that they are putting spiderman 1 and 2 on a single blu-ray disc. I would much rather them be seperate.

I don't think they're on the same disc, unless I read it wrong. Spider-Man 2 and 2.1 are on the same disc.

I'm a big Spidey fan (hence the name, not a huge fan of the movies though) but Spidey 3 was garbage, so hopefully they'll sell i & 2 separate.

Hey kman! I think Spider-Man 1 gets one disc and Spider-Man 2 gets one disc. The movie that has 2 discs is Spider-Man 3. So, for the boxed set there would be 4 discs total.

I have not seen anything about Spider-Man 1 & 2 being crammed together on a single disc. Anybody else want to chime in on this one?

Extra from 1 and 2 are in 480i (ported over the dvd) while for the 3rd one they are all in HD , so the need for the 2nd disc (a la Paramount)

I have to wonder if DVD buyers were purchasing it. It's not showing up on the top 10s yet for Blu-ray and Spidey-3 alone is over #1000 in the rankings.

Is the price of only Spidey-3 THAT out of whack?

I think Sony wants for everybody to buy the trilogy so they priced the 3rd movie so whacked ( the worst one IMO ) Whos going to buy just #3.

It'll probably be free with the purchase of a PS3 or some Blu Ray Player.

I think you're right that Sony priced it to add incentive for the Trilogy.

It's a bit of a business game here. Obviously they want to encourage as many sales as possible. And to encourage replacement of DVD with Blu-ray.

But, the question remains whether the high price of the Spidey-3 alone will affect overall sales, or whether the Trilogy is going to be Planet Earth II (or somewhere in between).

It seems Blu-ray fans have no problem spending the $$. The Blade Runner collector case is neck and neck with the basic 5-disc set on Amazon (#136 v. #135 compared to #415 v. #225 for HD DVD). Since there is a $40 difference for the same discs, that is pretty amazing.

I wish sony would offer a download service so I could just download those films onto my PS3 and then watch them and keep them on there (THat would show xbox marketplcace up), this way I'd actually have a real use with my 60 gig HDD or even 80 gig HDD.
