I've wait for announcements to come that would change my mind, but after a pretty good start of the year, May is terrible imo. I'm getting 7 blus just in the last 2 weeks of April and catalogs like Armageddon (fun, popcorn blockbuster), Tombstone (one of the best films ever even if the release is a bit mediocre), and Minority Report. That's just 3 of the 7 , but pretty darned good for 2 weeks.
But May, this looks like it: Leap Year (and I'm only getting this because I'm in love with Amy Adams) Saving Pvt. Ryan (the best release of the month for me) The Notebook (which really only replaces the version with the junk) and The Messenger Everybody has different tastes, but all-in-all my tastes are pretty much in line with a lot of buyers and this is one lame month. With so many titles out there that need to be on blu, I can't understand how we even get months like this. There was that presser about Moulin Rouge and the Alien set in the 3rd and 4th quarter and I thinking, "what about May and June?" Where are the catalogs? |

I wanted to purchase "The Karate Kid" films...but it's just not happening without PART III included...
Also, "Escape From L.A." gets a release before "Escape From New York" ![]() ![]() |

Agreed! March and especially April were huge for me. Gonna have to get Saving Private Ryan and Karate Kid parts I and II for sure. Maybe Carlito's Way too, but will be a total blind buy cause i don't even know much about it. Then War of the Worlds and Shutter Island for sure early June.

I haven't been buying as rapidly as I did for awhile, but in May I can't wait to get my hands on The Edge with Anthony Hopkins and Alec Baldwin. I'm not expecting one of the greatest transfers ever, but I'm sure it will blow away my non-anamorphic DVD.

It certainly comes down to taste... May is a packed month for me.
Doctor Zhivago The Edge Hang 'Em High Invictus The Karate Kid M. The Magnificent Seven Collection The Man in the Iron Mask Marked for Death The Messenger The Road Saving Private Ryan Stagecoach Walkabout And last, but certainly not least... I can see how people would want to rest their wallets...and it's not that I don't feel the same. But I'd rather have a few blus that I can't get right away, just as long as more catalogs are released. I mean, again, we all have different tastes, but I'm pretty sure the majority of people here would love many of the dvds I still have which I'm praying get a blu release relatively soon (or just soon). There's way too many in my opinion. Big names...guaranteed sellers...and then even the smaller or niche films I own. I can't wait to see them in HD and it really seems like the studios are intentionally going very slowly. To the point that an expensive month is usually driven only be the number of NEW releases I want to purchase and not on too many catalog releases. |

Oh and possibly Dear John in May.
I think all of the movies out in June are pretty much blind buys, only one is definite. The rest I'll think about, all depending on price. But there's also two or three CD's coming out that I'm getting. Most of the catalog movies out in May I've never seen. Actually a lot of the catalog movies in general I haven't seen. |

Please save your money. As much as I'd love to add anything Amanda to my collection, this movie is not worth your money...at least until it's around $10 and, even then, if you don't mind not feeling like watching very often.
Leap Year is an ok movie at best but compared to this film, it's The Godfather. Rent it and get something better with your money. Just trying to help. |

For me, True Blood S02 and Private Ryan will be the only highlights in may. Not much else i'm excited about. But some of the releases i want to see on Blu eventually like M, The Road or The Magnificent Seven.
