But sadly, no Underground Blu-ray for the restored Marcello Mastroianni/Ursula Andress "The 10th Victim", for the Austin Powers-curious.

The Blu-ray.com review said that there was a production error where the TrueHD track was faulty in some manner - the review also said that Blue Underground had promised this fault would not be present in the final retail copies. So most likely, they had to get rid of their current stock and re-author and re-press the fixed disc, resulting in this big delay. They originally delayed back from July 28th to August 11th, but I guess it's taking longer than they expected. Universal was able to fix Inside Man in a week or so, but Blue Underground is a much smaller studio was much smaller resources and industry pull. Hopefully it will be out soon - I prefer they take their time to release the fixed disc, then have put the faulty one out on the market.

Blahdvd.com is a good site to get the region B version if somebody wants it now. I have bought from them in the past and they are very good (and good prices). It comes out to about $23 plus $2-$3 shipping, so it isn't too expensive to import it. Here is the LINK.

So can anyone tell me what the problem with the TrueHD track is? The review here at Blu-ray.com and a review from another site both mentioned it, but don't say what the problem actually is. I have a retail copy coming in the mail today, which isn't supposed to have the problem - but I'd just like to know the problem so I can keep a look out for it to make sure my copy isn't affected.

I just picked this one up during the recent Amazon sale on Blue Underground releases. I received it a couple of days ago and was finally able to sit down to this movie last night.
![]() First of all I want to say that going into this movie I had no idea of what to expect. I knew it was about a man who had never been outside, finally venturing out into the world for the first time...that's about it. I was not prepared for what I was about to see, and boy am I glad that I wasn't. ![]() I do not want to say too much in this review but I do want to toss out a "viewer beware" disclaimer to all who are considering a viewing of this film. I have read too many "reviews" that say things like grab the family and get ready to enjoy, or fun for the kids. I am going to say straight off that this film is intended for very mature audiences only. Also, this film is honestly for those who are not easily offended or repulsed by the sickest, most depraved human behavior imaginable. You will be viewing things on screen you probably thought you never would. ![]() Don't get me wrong. This movie is far, far away from being a "torture porn" film, or merely an exploitation film. In fact, I would not consider this an exploitation film at all. It is not trying to be shocking either. The director has a specific intent for all we see, as well as an utterly gripping and fascinating story to tell. Everything that happens in the film serves a purpose. It serves as a way to allow you to understand better the events that are about to unfold, and why these events are worthy of our attention. The acting done by Nicholas Hope as the titular character is nothing short of an award winning and genius portrayal of a man that is truly a product of his environment. This movie's success lies in the ability of the viewer to be able to digest everything that happens and then want to continue to watch more. Hope finds a way of letting us into the character in a way that makes him an endearing anti-hero of sorts. You become emotionally engaged by the opening of this film immediately. As time passes, you become emotionally invested in Bubby as well. His journey of discovery becomes our journey of discovery...but through the eyes and ears (sometimes literally, I will explain in the next paragraph) of this emotionally and mentally stunted man. Now I have to mention the audio on this disc. I was not aware going in (this gets displayed in a disclaimer before the movie starts) but there are parts of the film that were recorded with a unique audio technique that is used to recreate everything as if it was the way Bubby was hearing it happen. I know that sounds a bit gimmicky, I thought it did at first, but it is used to great effect in this movie and is not over done at all. I chalk this up to a stroke of genius by the director Rolf de Heer. Nicely done, sir. I want to conclude this review by saying that I know I didn't really talk about anything that happens in the film. I did that on purpose. Going into this film (as with any film) you absolutely NEED to have no idea of what is about to come. That way, you have a genuine reaction to all of the proceedings. I will go so far as to say to avoid all professional reviews as well. I read several of them after viewing this film and found that MANY of them told you way, way, too much information. It ruins some of the emotional value this movie has if you know too much. I cannot stress this enough. ![]() In my opinion, anyone with a thirst for seeing original movies that dare to show us the darker side of life through an unflinching and uncompromising lens...this film becomes a "Must See". Overall I would award this film an EASY 4/4 stars. Thanks for reading. -Dave Last edited by painted_klown; 06-14-2011 at 04:43 AM. |

I did a quick search for it at other sites like Best Buy, Deep Discount, DVD Empire, and Wal-Mart and nobody has it. It looks like it's OOP.

It is not OOP in Aus so you can buy it from there. The Aus version also has the best extra features package when compared to the US and UK.
