This is potentially excellent, but I have to assume there will be at least one more box for Series 7-14 (or the remaining 32 episodes) and I hope the series is presented in the proper 25 fps.

I've always wanted to watch the series (but avoided it because it was only on DVD) but I'm surprised that all the series through 2025 are stereo only on UK DVD. Even the Series 14 UK DVD has stereo only, but the US release of Series (or "Set") 10 claims to have 5.1 sound:

[Show spoiler]

I don't know if that's in error, though. Sadly it seems the US releases stopped after Series 10, but based on similar shows, I should think that at least some of the later episodes of Vera were filmed with 5.1 sound, even if ITV failed to put 5.1 tracks on the UK DVDs.

If it is, it'll be a 50hz Bluray and in 1080i.

The specs mention it's a 1080p transfer, and if that's true it'll be 24p.

I've been hoping for an HD release for a long time. There are some scenic shots that look incredible and will look stunning if this is done right.

Is it accurate that there are NO subtitles for this entire six-season blu ray box-set? My elderly mother loves Vera and spins the DVDs often, but she struggles now with their accents and her own hearing. As such, no subtitles, if true, means a missed opportunity here, as I won’t be buying this for her. Anyone?

Thank you very much for checking. How on earth can these brain-dead companies, all the way in 2025, be so cheap, lazy and short-sighted as to release an entire six-season box set intended clearly for an older demographic, spending all the time and money to scan, master, press the discs, and release it in HD, spending a small fortune, and not even bother put subtitles on a single episode? It's mind-boggling.

I've almost finished this set and the only problem I have with it is that it has no subtitles.

I have OK hearing, but there are a few places each episode I'd really like to confirm what I've heard by reading subtitles. No such luck.

Everything else is great about this set, although its no frills with just the episodes themselves and no special features.

I'm almost done with Series 4, and am hoping they put the rest out on Blu-ray also.

Series 1-7 appears to be out in 2 sets September and then October in a Japanese release 1-4 and a 3-7 set
