How's the quality? Was it worth it over the dvd? I thought it wasn't coming out yet. I guess I better start looking for a copy somewhere.

its about 3 of 5 because they didn`t clean the image and you still have the white spots, the colors are ok but close by the tv its a little blurry if i was you wait for a professional review ... i will post pictures tomorrow

Damn, I was hoping for at least a little tease for their plans. Maybe they really are just waiting to see how this one sells to make any solid plans.

In which case, I'm definitely buying this anyway, to support Funimations early decision to go Blu. Hopefully it pays off for them.

LOL You have no idea how much costly a full clean up cost, Blu-Ray is Niche, Anime is Niche, you're talking about Niche in a Niche here, maybe top 2000 unit sell this year.. i doubt that, unless it's Bandai, no CE can pay themself a nice remaster in America..

They most likely will. High production value made by major Anime Retailer will look better tought (like Bandai for example, they have the power to do it). I was glady suprised at Transformer Animation from UK too, altought the next step would be a full digital cleanup, a thing witch a don't think Metronome can't pay for that title... but it look so much better then their last DVD (witch was the best one yet imho).

So then what does "bad" mean? Does it mean there will be picture noise and imperfections or will the picture simply look like a DVD?

These are not high budget films. They're essentially 50 min commercials for the TV series and toys that were part of Toei's annual 6 hour roadshow tour for whatever they currently had on TV

but i bet if ADV goes blu-ray Air is going to look freaking awesome in HD just like the Japanese Blu-Ray version. But i will buy this Broly set at Best Buy when it comes out for $25 but i wanted upcoming trailers to upcoming Blu-Ray releases from Funimation like maybe Fruits Basket, Moon Phase, or any other awesome anime they have
