If you hated a movie after seeing it in a theatre, would you still buy it on Blu-Ray if a steelbook were avaliable?
With me, normally, no. As with the case of 2012. Awful movie, but the steelbook looks nice. I guess I am just trying to get some validation from the 'real' collectors since the only BD steelbooks I have so far are: District 9 Halo Legends |

I think all depends on the OCD level you go for....
![]() For me, I can surely say I love Steelbooks and in most cases I am also interested in the movie. However, have to be honest also to own movies which are crap. But if you love Steelbooks, you may also end up in having 6 or more versions of one and the same movie. ( I have 6 Gladiator versions and 4 TDK, 4x Inglourious Basterds) So all a matter of crazyness and obviously a bit of financial background ![]() |

I would of answered no to this question a week ago. But after not having bought a steelbook in a couple of months (Buying Zombieland didn't count because I don't pay for it until May
![]() I had no intentions of watching this movie until it finally showed up from my zip list (Canadian version of netflix), but after looking at the pictures of it here, I pulled the trigger! Damn you Steelbook! |

I don't go to the movie theater at all, so all of my viewings are blind. I've gotten to the point of buying each and every Future shop steelbook release, and before I open it, watch it from the library. Sometimes it takes quite a few months, but I don't open it until then. Worst case scenario, you can break even on selling it. So some movies I own that I have no intention of opening - Watchmen and Indy 4. They were ok to me, but here's where it gets bad - they're worth more sealed than open.
On the other hand, all of my Disney titles have been opened from day 1. I wasn't going to get away with picking up 13 movies that my son would enjoy over 12 weeks and not opening them from my wife!!! I'm still wondering why I bought "This is It" though... |

Has to be a good movie for me.
As a relative newbie to Steelbooks, i'm still coming to terms with the price of some of them ![]() 2012 Steely looks nice but the film is pants (imo) so I won't buy. Simple as. Well maybe if it was 5 pounds I would. ![]() |
