Need help here, bought this bluray from Costco (great deal) but movies seem grainy. It's hooked up to a Sony LCD, that looks great when watching HD television. When I compare the same movies on my PS3 (hooked up to plasma) there is no grain and the picture looks fantistic. Is there something wrong with the settings? I know that some movies have some grain, but when I watch the same movies on the plasma there is no grain. Please help

What Blu-Ray are you playing? With Blu-Ray you will see more grain in the film image as that is the way it is intended to look. This is natural. Get used to it if you care at all about getting an accurate picture. But if what you're see is noise, then that me be an issue with the HDMI cable or port on either the player or television. Try a different HDMI port on the television. You may also need to adjust certain settings in the television, such as sharpness.

I have tested the player with both Iron Man and Dark Knight, both are crystal clear on my PS3 which is hooked up to a plasma. I thought cheap HDMI cords did not matter?

Switch HDMI cables on the LCD to the one from the plasma or try hooking up the PS3 to the LCD with with cable and see if the picture is different from the BX2. I have the player as well and the picture is outstanding on my Panasonic Plasma. |

Remember that your display has settings for each individual input. I would also suggest that you turn down your Sharpness, especially with HD content. Because you have an LCD, try working with the Backlight settings. I have an older 46 inch Sony and I have my Backlight set to "4" and and adjusting the brightness and contrast along with the backlight may help as well.
