I could be mistaken, as I haven't checked in a while, but I don't think any of them are English friendly. Or at least Region A.
Justin Edit: It looks like the German copy is Region B, 1080i, and DD 5.1 lossy, but otherwise will work fine in the US, i.e. no 50hz issues. Last edited by Jwilly019; 03-01-2010 at 02:27 AM. |

I have the edition from Spain, but it's Region B and has English subtitles.
It looks pretty damn good for a movie shot on the cheap camera it was shot on and in 1080i I would say it was worth buying. ![]() Amazing movie, too! ![]() Muchhh better than Quarantine |

I imported the Filmax version over a year ago and its definitely Region A based. It has English subs. Its 1080i though, and 50fps capable TV is required for it to play.

All releases have either one or more of the following: lack of english subs, 1080i50, or region B locked. That includes the Spanish, German, French, Italian, Nordic, Japanese, and Brazilian releases. Your best bet would be the Spanish release as it is region free with english subs, but as it is 1080i50 you will need a compatible player and TV.
Am I missing anything? |

I actually think it was quite overrated. Didn't really find it scary and thought it had kind of been done before...
It's a 'found footage' hand-held camera horror affair in the manner of Blair Witch, Cloverfield, 28 Days Later (not 'found footage' but has the same aesthetic), Paranormal Activity etc... |

FYI the spanish release doesn't have lossless audio. At least the version i bought back then has DTS. Other european releases like the french or the german version have DTS-HD MA.

Sorry, i am not aware if that combination exists.
I had my hands on three versions and i bought two of them (i really like the film... ![]() I have the spanish 1080i50 with spanish DTS and english subtitles, which is my favorite. I also bought the french release (can't recall the exact video specs atm) for the spanish DTS-HD MA, but it only comes with french subtitles. Then i rented the german release, which had 1080p24 video and lossless audio iirc, but also no english subs. However the video of the german release has a low bitrate and looked noticably worse than the spanish release. |
