"Making Jack Falcone" Del Toro Mobster Film

For some reason this makes me think of Vinnie Chase in Medellin

Del Toro will reunite with Steven Soderbergh and Peter Buchman, the writer/director team behind the epic Ché films. Soderbergh will produce Flacone and Buchman will pen the script.

Based on the real life story of Cuban-born Fed Jack Garcia, the film will tell of Garcia's undercover operation with the Gambino family where his Falcone persona was so convincing that he was invited to become a Made Man before he sprung his trap and brough down 39 New York Gambinos.

It's a cool tale with a larger-than-life hero, and I mena that quite literally. The real Jack Garcia is 6'4" and 390 pounds. When he was livin' the undercover life he even had a mullet, which means Benecio could potentially disguise himself completely. Or he could just fictionalize it and provide the famous face that's needed to market adult dramas (remember the debate about Nicole Kidman's nose invalidating her star power in The Hours?).

Right now Paramount holds the film, but without a director attached this project is still in the ether.
