Default Matshita BD-RE UJ-225S question

Hi,

I just bought a new laptop and it comes with a blue-ray burner, Matshita BD-RE UJ-225s. I want to burn a DVD for my document but kind of confuse which one between DVD-R or DVD+R. I ask the store associate, and he said I have to know what my burner capable to do, but my friend said that I should be able to use either one of them. Does anyone can help me with that issue? because I don't want to buy a pack of DVD that I can't use.

Thanks a lot!!

As BLindsay stated... either.

The drive will work fine with both/either - and/or +.

Default matshita UJ-225S problem

Hello to everyone

My usb external matshita UJ-225s(blu ray reader and burner) with the last firmware Q310 doesn't read blu ray disks or write files on a blu ray disk. It just write files on cd's and dvd's.

But it supposed to write files on bd-r and bd-re. i tested with several burning software when i test to write a bd-r or bd-re disk the software tells me that the reader is empty. i have a packard bell pc and i tested with tdk bd-r and bd-re (1-2x speed and 1-4 speed) and panasonic bd-re (1-2x speed)

if someone have the drivers for windows xp please help thanks in advance.

What software are you using?

If you put a normal BD movie in, does it read it ok? You may need to update the firmware or download other software.
