Default Favorite Cheesy Love Songs?

You know you have some that you just LOVE. Songs that when they come on you sing along with them even though they are cheesy and sappy.

For me:

1. Your Song - Elton John(This is actually my wedding song too!)
2. I'd Do Anything For Love - Meatloaf
3. Music of the Night - Phantom of the Opera

Default AKA "Let's embarass ourselves!"

Lessee, I have a couple:

* Randy Van Wormer: You left me just when I needed you most

* Air Supply: All out of Love

* Jim Croce: I'll have to say I love you in a song

* David Gates: The Goodbye Girl

Do they get much more cheesy than those?!

I'd Do Anything For Love is probably one of my favorite songs of all time. Not the crappy six minute radio edit, though. You gotta go with the 12 minute epic version. You miss a lot of the payoff when the chorus finally kicks it up when it's shortened.

Making Love Out of Nothing At All by Air Supply is a ballin' song. I love singing that one. Also really enjoyed its inclusion in Mr. & Mrs. Smith, especially since the scene follows the song perfectly and never misses a beat. I enjoyed that attention to detail.

Against All Odds is another one of my all time favorites. Probably in my top five.

Stewie Wonder - My Cheri Amor
Though it's not cheesy or embarrasing in my opinion, although Take On Me by A-Ha would be one

I'm a Michael Bolton fan. For my money, I don't know if it gets any better than when he sings "When a Man Loves a Woman".

When I first saw this post, Talking In Your Sleep - The Romantics popped into my head. Followed closely by My Angel Is A Certerfold - J. Geils Band.

This thread is hilarious!

Just so I know, what classifies a love song as "cheesy"? I mean aren't they all kind of cheesy?

Here are a couple love songs that may or may not qualify per the cheese rule:

Heart - Alone
Whitney Houston - I Will Always Love You
Stevie B. - Spring Love (or anything he does, really)
Rod Stewart - Tonight's the Night

One that I actually do love, regardless of cheese:

Led Zeppelin - All of My Love
