Default Harry Potter Azkaban Re-release?

Don't know if this has been mentioned yet, but on the Where The Wild Things Are blu-ray, there's a promo for the WB blu/DC editions, and featured prominently was what looked like a new edition of the HP Azkaban disc. Strange, considering peeps are anticipating an Ultimate Edition of it sometime soon.

Anyone else catch this?

It's for the upcoming utlimate edition. All 8 films will be getting this treatment. So far only the first 2 have been released so Azkaban can't be that far off.

But the slipcover on the promo looked like the current cover (not in the style of the Deluxe Editions) with the standard Warner Blu-Ray Digital Copy blue banner on top.

I just thought it was curious. Maybe all the regular editions are getting the DC treatment as well.

the first 4 Harry Potter films need a better video encode bad. A remastering or whatever it takes.

I dunno, the first two films were kind of soft but that's probably due to the source material. 3-6 looks just fine to me, I would even say 5 and 6 are reference quality.

Once they dip to about $20, I'll sell PS and COS to help pay for the better releases. Hoping Hastings will give me a decent deal for them.

They all suffer from black level issues (aside from the 2 recent ones).

EDIT: I also forgot about the aliasing issue. I can't remember if it's all of them or just the last 2. Something is telling me it's all of them since aliasing is typical of WB.

To me and many others that have seen them that i know say they look fine. Also the review sites are praising them.

I have seen them, and I also have seen the complaints on this forum and others.

You can see they get better as the series goes on. However, as some users pointed out, there is still aliasing in The Half-Blood Prince. Someone even posted time stamps where you can see the aliasing issues. I can't remember if there is in the other ones though. But again, just because a reviewer says something doesn't automatically make it so (no offense to the reviewers).

EDIT: Here's a review that actually has time stamps with the issues noted for The Half Blood Prince: http://www.doblu.com/2009/12/08/harr...prince-review/

I'd like to see the reviewers go back and take a look at these again just to see if they'd still give them the high scores they originally did now that they've seen some more amazing titles released on Blu-ray.

Sorry to bump this thread up again, but what about my post didn't make any sense to you? Just because you didn't understand aliasing (defined here for you) doesn't mean my posts don't make sense.

Well, in a couple of Wal-Marts, the single-disc Blus of the Harry Potter movies are advertised as having Digital Copy codes. Maybe Warner is just trying to sell as much of stock as possible to get rid of inventory, and if Digital Copies can entice those on-the-fence customers, then great.

Thanks for the info. I wonder if they plan on rolling them out even wider to other stores.
