William Peterson in To Live and Die in L.A. would top my list. I was stunned by that scene the first time I saw it because it was so completely unexpected.

All of the deaths at the end of The Departed were pretty surprising.

I disagree with the Drive one, you're know Cranston's time is up when Brook appears just as he's about to leave.

Very interesting list. Thanks for sharing. The triage of surprising deaths within such a short period of time in The Departed always gets me. Love that movie.

Drive & The Mist in the top 10.

For sure some of the most shocking, intense deaths in those films.

Yeah, but I found that to be hilarious though. The look on both of their faces.

The list was ok, I disagree with Funny Games and Hidden (Cache) just because I didn't care for those two one bit.

I voted no.. But maybe I'm missing the point of the article. Like Shawshank, it was highly predictable. The way they set it, my guess was intended to be predictable. Brutal, yes but shocking.. not at all.

I agree that some of these are shocking (Executive Decision!). I am still skimming through the list but definitely not all of them.

I had the same reaction.

Maybe I missed it, but
[Show spoiler]Drew Barrymore getting killed so early
in Scream suprised me since I believe she was getting top billing when the movie was marketed.

Can someone write the names of the movies? Because I don't really wanna read it if I haven't seen the movies yet.

Thanks.
