Default I am embarrassed to ask but this has been bugging me
I use an onkyo 605 reciever with some HTIB speakers from this set

My brother just got a PS3 and a new TV, why did the sound from just his TV sound crisper and clearer than my set up running lossless? Even my 8 year old son even said he was hearing more "effects"?? I always thought the onkyos were not too shabby, I am really surprised. Comparing the two it seems that with the onkyo's there is no mid range?? Or is this some type of placebo effect? We were watching irobot a movie we have seen a buzzillion times.
