Default The patheticness of Wal-Mart's BD selection

So here we are a week into March where one of the biggest BD titles have come out, speaking of 2012 here, and would you think my local Wal-Mart would have the title in BD? Surely, right? After all, they had Wolverine when it first came out about the time I was about to upgrade to Blu. Well, no they don't. First of all, I didn't even bother going to the store, I had a friendf who was going anyway to do a little forward scouting for me, if you will. He radioed back (called) and reported that they didn't have it and that they may be getting it.

And I thought Wal-Mart was supposed to be aggressively ramping up their BD selection? What happened with that brilliant no-brainer idea? At this point, I'd doubt they'd get in Avatar on release day.

Any Wal-Mart employees here that can report on this issue?

It's a regional thing, my Wal-Mart seems to be re-doing their blu section, hopefully for the better. It may also be a seasonal thing, movie selection as a whole at my Wal-Mart is rather diminished right now.

I live near Walmart Home Office...the store right accross from the H.O. is out of almost every bd and the bd display is getting very small.

Pathiticity???

I didn't realize they own Vudu. That could be very bad for blu selection and pushing expansion of the blu-ray format.

Been meaning to asnwer this...

I'm pretty sure it is. Because I don't know anyway else to say such a thing. And I'd quote some grammar rules on the use of the 'ness' suffix, but I wouldn't even know where to look.

Patheticness is a noun, confirmed by the Oxford Dictionary. It was first used in 1874.

The Wal-Mart in my neck of the woods actually dissolved their blu-ray stock. The blu-ray section is totally gone. You might find a handfull of blu-rays now, mixed in amongst the DVDs.

Pretty frustrating and yes, pathetic even!

The selection at my local Wal-Mart stores has declined as well.

My Wal-Mart stocks all the new Blus as well as new catalogue releases. I guess I'm just lucky

I like the selection my local Wal-marts have on budget titles, but they do not get many of the new releases each week. And they never get anything but the most mainstream titles.

I believe it's going to get worse, now that they own Vudu.

I can't complain, they have all the new releases and older hard to find titles not at Best Buy or at B&N I find at Walmart for 1/2 price.

That isn't good for a high per capita income state like MA.

By comparison my local Wally World in my dirt poor state is always well stocked on new and catalog releases.

Strange
