Samsung LN55B640 - Blu-ray Forum

Had Best Buy deliver the LN55B640 this morning. I had originally purchased the Insignia NS-L55X-10A to replace my Sony 50" SXRD, but just wasn't thrilled with it. Not a bad set, but it just didn't have the pop I wanted. I went back in to BB and selected the Samsung, which I got a very good deal on.

I was very hesitant to go with the LN55B640, because of the reflective panel. I have a bright living room and wasn't sure how that would work. Well, after 6 hours my main reaction is "WOW!!!". Yes, it IS reflective, but just isn't much of an issue. Right out of the box the colors were awesome and vibrant and the picture was bright and crisp. HD channels on DirecTV and OTA look terrific and SD looks decent as well. I'll be running sound through my Yamaha receiver and Polk speakers most of the time, but the speakers on the TV aren't bad at all.

So far I'm very pleased and hope to improve things even further once I get a chance to tweak some of the settings.

i just picked this up from BB and im very happy with it!! WOW what a picture!! i was just worried because its not the new 240hz style tvs but not sure if that even matters. oh well im happy!!
