Default Do you buy blu-rays for the sake of collecting?

1. Do any of you buy blu-rays for the sake of just collecting them?
2. Do any of you still keep your blu-rays after watching them once and don't think you are going to watch it again but you think it nice to still have it in your collection?

I have a bought a few steelbooks that I already have in standard blu ray cases just for the sake of colleting them. I have no plans to open them up, but they are favorite movies of mine to begin with. I would never buy a steelbook of a movie that I do not like merely for collection purposes.

No, not me.

2. Do any of you still keep your blu-rays after watching them once and don't think you are going to watch it again but you think it nice to still have it in your collection?

Yes, it's not worth the time or effort to me to try and sell it off. I'd rather keep it.

I enjoy collecting them. But I buy them because I actually watch them.

I know there are members on this site who have 1000+, 2000+ etc with most of them sealed.

I don't really understand that... But to each their own I guess?

Now this really takes the cake! So therefore, you buy steelbooks that you have no intentions of opening, just to admire, and collect dust. That's like me going out, buy a brand new 2014 car, bring it home from the dealership, put it in the garage just to look at it, and never have any intentions of driving it. That would be a $35,000.00 vehicle stored up in my garage, dry rotting.

1.) No = I have to have at least some interest in seeing the film!
2.) Depends on if I think anyone would buy it.

Yea, because not driving a $35,000 vehicle is the same as buying a FEW blu-rays and letting it sit there on the shelf.

No, I have to have some interest in seeing the movie before buying it, or I love the movie.

2. Do any of you still keep your blu-rays after watching them once and don't think you are going to watch it again but you think it nice to still have it in your collection?

Yes, because sometime I want to watch it again. I've sold some movies before I thought I wouldn't want to watch anymore but then I wanted to see them.....So I re-bought them! Now when I get rid of any movie I have to make sure.
